Srinagar: 22-year-old Aamir Siraj, who turned terrorist from a promising footballer, can allegedly be heard telling his father that he was involved in terrorism with treachery. He was warned not to surrender. Doing so threatens the life of his family.
An audio clip of Aamir Siraj turning from a promising footballer to a terrorist has gone viral on social media. In this clip, Aamir Siraj allegedly claimed that he was forced to carry a gun. This clip of Siraj came out 4 days after his encounter. This audio clip of 22-year-old Siraj along with his family members was rejected on social media in the valley. The family rejected the audio clip and said that it is a part of the government's propaganda.
In the controversial audio clip, 22-year-old Aamir Siraj can be heard saying that 'he was made a terrorist by treachery. Later, he was warned not to surrender. Doing so would threaten his family's life. The conversation reportedly took place between Siraj and his father before an encounter with security forces in Kaseri area of Baramulla.
What did Siraj say in the audio?
Soon after the audio went viral, the terrorist's father Siraj-ud-din released a video and called the audio as fake. Siraj-ud-din said that the audio is fake because he had never spoken to his son. He joined the group of terrorists six months ago. Siraj-ud-din said that he was unaware that his son was present in the encounter last week. At that time, his family was present at an event at the sister's house.
After the killing in the encounter, some videos of Aamir's dribbling practice went viral on social media, while many users had expressed condolences on social media. Siraj's conversation with his father allegedly in the audio revealed on Monday revealed that he wanted to surrender. The audio showed that the army and the police were giving him a chance to surrender, but the terrorist group had prevented him from doing so.
Siraj reportedly said in the audio- 'I try to surrender, but they (terrorists) are pressurizing me not to do so. They have threatened to kill my family ... whatever will happen to me now, but I want you all safe. ' Siraj told the other person on the phone (allegedly his father) - Do not let anyone take the wrong path.
What is the claim of Aamir Siraj's father?
Siraj-uj-din said, 'He (the man in the audio) is calling his father' Abba 'while my son used to call me' Abbuji '. In the audio, he is calling his mother 'Boba' but in reality Siraj used to call his mother as 'Mommy'.
Siraj-ud-din said that the family was not aware of his son's encounter. He said- 'We went to my sister's house for a ceremony. At 4 pm that day, the local SHO told us that he had no idea whether Siraj was in the encounter or not.
He said that 'in the evening we received a call again. This time we were asked to identify his body. Later, he was taken to Sheeri village of Baramulla for burial. Some family members were present at the funeral.
